Bullet meant to scare, hits boy

A 15-year-old streetchild was shot in the leg by a security guard after he was allegedly caught trying to break into a restaurant in Cebu City yesterday morning.

The suspect, Gleen Culanag of CQB Security Agency, surrendered to the police after the incident.

 

He said he acted in self-defense as the boy allegedly whipped out a knife.

 

The guard added he did not aim his .38 caliber revolver at the victim as he only intended to fire a warning shot, but the bullet ricocheted.

 

He said he accosted  the boy along with  his companions after he allegedly caught them about to enter El Gecko Bar and Grill at past 10 a.m.

 

The boy was taken to the Cebu City Medical Center.
