A Senior High 11th Grader caught with 1 kilo shabu

CEBU CITY, Philippines — An 18-year-old male who is in Grade 11 in a senior high school in Cebu City was caught with about a kilo of shabu valued at P6.8 million on Sunday, March 24, 2o19. The suspect, identified as Michael David De Gracia, a resident of  Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City, was also caught in possession of a loaded unlicensed firearm, according to Chief Inspector (Police Major) Ricardo Tero, chief of the Regional Special Operations Group in Central Visayas (RSOG-7). De Gracia, considered by authorities as a high value target, was the subject of a buy bust operation jointly undertaken by RSOG, Regional Intelligence Group (RID-7), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) and the San Nicolas Police Precinct of the Cebu City Police Office. According to Tero, De Garcia attempted to fight back and was drawing out his gun when overpowered by operatives during the drug bust along V. Aranas Street, Barangay San Nicoloas, Cebu City, past 4 p.m. of Sunday. De Gracia was in the company of two cohorts — identified as a Jean Palermo and a certain Raxo – both of whom were also escape the police dragnet. Tero said De Gracia was placed under surveillance for two weeks before they implemented the buy bust operation. San Nicolas Barangay Captain Clifford Niñal, in an interview with reporters on Sunday, lauded the  local community for alerting the police about the presence of drug personalities in their barangay, which explained why there had been a number of recent drug-related arrests in their village. Niñal said the barangay government will continue to harness the  cooperation of the communities in San Nicolas in the fight against illegal drugs. /elb
