MANDAUE CITY, Philippines— Presidential Assistant to the Visayas Michael Dino ones again reminded directors of government agencies in Central Visayas not to let themselves and their respective offices be used by politicians especially during the election period.

Dino especially directed his reminders at regional directors of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) whose agencies are mostly involved with Local Government Units.

“Remember kaning mga line agencies, national ni. Sa una, I’m not saying now, but there was a regional director of DSWD before nga nagpagamit gyud siya og politiko which is really bad,” Dino said in a message which he delivered during the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) dialogue with regional directors held in a Mandaue City hotel on Monday morning, March 25.

“We have to understand that corruption is a no-no in this administration and (that) the president is really, really serious about this,” he added.

PACC chairman Dante Jimenez met with the regional directors today to discuss the agency’s thrust in upholding clean governance.

Jimenez warned the directors of different government agencies present during the meeting that his office will immediately investigate erring agency heads.

PACC, which was established in 2018, is tasked to investigate anomalies and incidence of corruption among government offices including local government units./dcb
