Cebu City, Philippines — Police are eyeing personal grudge as a possible motive on the killing of a 14-year-old girl, whose corpse was found on a septic tank in Danao City.

Lieutenant Colonel Maribel Getigen, Danao City Police Station chief, said they are conducting a hot pursuit for the suspect identified as Jessie Medequillo, a 34-year-old security guard.

Medequillo, according to Getigan, was also assigned at Cogon Cruz Integrated School where the victim, identified as Thesa Marie Ygay, was found on Monday, April 8, 2019.

Getigan said they received information that Medequillo is allegedly supporting the needs Ygay since 2012.

“The victim’s parents are separated. She currently resides in a house owned by her aunt in Barangay Ibo, Lapu-Lapu City,” said Getigan.

She added that the suspect reportedly displays aggressive behavior every time Ygay roams around without his permission.

“In fact, a blotter report was filed against the suspect last March 25 for shaving her hair off,” said Getigan.

Investigators from Danao City said witnesses pointed to the suspect as the last person they saw with Ygay. /bmjo
