CEBU CITY,  Philippines — Police are looking for a 32-year-old man who is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in a barangay in Cebu City.

The girl accompanied by her parents reported the alleged rape to the Parian Police Precinct at past 11 a.m. on April 22, said Police Staff Sergeant Rose Ada Jungao of the Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk of the Precinct.

The report of the alleged rape happened a few hours after a teacher was caught with a minor inside a lodging house in Colon Street in Cebu City.

The teacher was arrested and would be facing a child abuse case.

In the alleged rape of the 14-year-old girl, Jungao said that the girl was scared to tell her parents about the alleged rape to her because the 32-year-old man allegedly threatened her.

But the parents prevailed upon the girl and convinced her to tell them what really happened.

The parents then brought the girl to the police station and reported the alleged rape.

Jungao said that they went to the home of the suspect but he was no longer there and they believed that he was in hiding.

Police were awaiting the results of the medical examination of the girl and file the case of rape against the suspect. |dbs
