Cebu City, Philippines—Compostela and San Francisco propped up their respective campaigns as they logged in victories during the resumption of the 9th Congressman Red Durano Cup basketball tournament on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, in Poro.

Compostela defeated the homecourt-toting Poro, 60-53, in overtime while San Francisco blew away Sogod, 68-54.

The victory by Compostela was a hard-earned one as it got off to a sluggish start and trailed by 17 points, 13-30, at halftime.

Compostela was still down by 13 in the fourth canto but uncorked a 21-8 run to knot things up at 47-all at the end of regulation and send the game to overtime.

It eventually took control in the extra session to seize the win and bump its win-loss record up to 6-2.

Poro dropped to 1-4.

Meanwhile, San Francisco won its third game in four tries, thanks to a sizzling start that saw it lead by 19 over Sogod, 50-31, after three periods.
