PDEA-7 arrests grandmother in Labangon drug raid

CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) arrested a senior citizen and five other individuals in Sitio Bugnay 1, Barangay Labangon during a late afternoon drug raid conducted on Tuesday, April 30.

PDEA-7 Spokesperson Leia Albiar said Delma Mahilum, 68 and a senior citizen, was the subject of the drug raid.

Albiar said Mahilum manages a house with a couple of rooms, which were rented out to different tenants.

One of her tenants reported suspicious activities in the area and authorities then saw the need to place Mahilum under surveillance. According to the tenant, several rooms in the house managed by Mahilum were being used as drug dens or venues for group pot sessions.

Confiscated from Mahilum were illegal drugs worth P71,000.

Other individuals arrested during the drug raid were Hanley Go, 25, Serafin Mahilum,31, Josue Kaparida, 19, Bhartholome Abella 22,and someone with the last name, Villaflores , 29.

A certain Alfonso Dadula Jr. escaped the operation and is currently at large. / celr
