Marvel’s Filipina superhero ‘Wave’ to debut in Marvel comics on May 8
Cebu City, Philippines—Watch out for Marvel’s Filipina superhero who will be making her Marvel comics debut on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.
This was divulged in a tweet posted by filmmaker and comic book writer Grek Pak.
“Reminder that Wave, Marvel’s new Filipina superhero, debuts in WAR OF THE REALMS: NEW AGENTS OF ATLAS #1 on May 8. This book is gonna sell out. Ask your retailer to hold a copy for you!.”
Wave’s real name in the Marvel comics universe is Pearl Pangan, whose home base is in Cebu City.
Some preview pages that Pak tweeted showed battle scenes between Wave and Aero, a Chinese superhero. The scene took place in the Philippine Sea.
Marvel comics fans were ecstatic with the debut of the first Marvel Filipina superhero. Some replied to Pak’s tweet.
VincentAsco tweeted, “Wave is a great gift for us, Filipinos, especially those who were in the comic book fandom like me.”
