CEBU CITY, Philippines – A policeman from Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental has accused Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña of carnapping and robbery.

Patrolman Romil Gelogo alleged that Osmeña took his Honda TMX motorcycle and a Tag Heuer wrist watch worth P150, 000 that was kept on the tool box of his motorcycle.

Osmeña confronted Gelogo whom he saw leaving the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday after he saw that the policemen was only wearing shorts and slippers to pair with his dark colored T-shirt and jacket.

The mayor said that he had Gelogo’s motorcycle impounded by the City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) after he found that it also lacked side mirrors and registration sticker.

“By law, the mayor is granted police authority and is in fact in command of the police. Why did this policeman refuse to comply when asked for his license, registration, and police ID, and moreover why did he retreat back into the camp after I asked him if he was evading and not complying?,” said Osmeña’s FB post.
