The video that showed who was responsible for cutting down the trees near the corner of Juan Luna Avenue and S. Osmeña Road were shown to the City Council, Monday morning.

Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak showed the council three clips of the footage but kept the actual video that showed the actual uprooting of trees.

Last March 25 at 4 p.m. the trees in the center island near the corner of Juan Luna Avenue and S. Osmeña Road, were still there. The next clip taken the following day at 6 a.m showed that the trees were no longer there.

There were also clips showing the Parks and Playground team supervising the pruning operations of the WT Construction.

Tumulak said they can show the whole footage but cannot give it away unless a case is already filed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Cebu City Councilor Gerardo Carillo asked Tumulak to file a case against the contractor in behalf of the city government instead of waiting for DENR.

However Tumulak said he will leave the filing of the case to the Cebu City legal department.

A resolution was passed inviting DENR, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and WT Construction to view the full footage in a closed door meeting on April 21.

More than a hundred trees mostly fire trees were found missing since March 26.

Some branches ended up as bundles of firewood sold at the sidewalk in Pier 5.
