CDO teams ready to help DOH-7 trace persons in contact with n-COV positive patient
CAGAYAN DE ORO, Philippines — Several teams are on standby here and just waiting for a call of assistance from the Department of Health in Region 7 to help trace persons, who may have been in contact with the 38-year-old Chinese woman, the first confirmed case of the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019 n-COV) in the country.
City Health Officer, Dr. Lorraine Nery, said the teams would be activated as soon as the DOH 7 would ask them for assistance.
“We have already set protocols and guidelines with the DOH on how to handle contact tracing if they came over to our city,” Nery said.

The DOH have engaged in tracing the possible persons, who came close in contact with the Chinese patient.
The Philippine Air Lines said on Friday it had placed an entire crew of two pilots and four cabin crews of its Manila to Dumaguete flight under quarantine.

In a statement, PAL said they were also contacting the passengers seated near the patient, who is now confined at the San Lazaro Manila in Metro Manila.

A day after DOH confirmed the first case of novel coronavirus in the country, panicky residents began a buying spree for face masks from drugstores nationwide.
But most drug stores have ran out of supply and have posted signs that they have run out of supply of face masks for sale.

At the Laguindingan airport in Misamis Oriental, most of the passengers from all incoming flights from Manila and Cebu are seen wearing face masks in the arrival area.
Teams from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 10 began distributing face masks at the bus terminals in Barangay Bulua and Agora today Friday./dbs
