Fire officials still looking for two more missing persons

Mandaue City, Cebu—Firemen found the charred remains of a woman in the fire scene in Zamora Street, Barangay Centro, Mandaue City on Monday morning, February 17, 2020.

The fire broke out at around 2 a.m. and reached the fourth alarm. It affected three compounds: Ceniza, Gestopa and Ermac.

The fire also caused power interruption in the area, including parts of the nearby Barangay Alang-Alang.

According to fire investigator SFO1 Noel Codilla, firemen are still looking for two more missing persons who were believed to be trapped inside the fire scene.

Fire officials have yet to identify the fatality as of this posting. /bmjo
