Helper killed by suitor

A 20-year-old helper was allegedly killed by her suitor in her employer’s residence in BF Homes Subdivision, Barangay Lawaan I, Talisay City yesterday morning.

Mary Jane Apa-ap Parame, a 20-year-old native of Campo 8, Toledo City, was found dead on the bathroom floor wearing only her undergarments.

SPO1 Edgar Causon of Talisay City Police named a resident of Veto, Minglanilla as the prime suspect.

Teresita Gabison, the victim’s employer, told the police that she went searching for Parame to request her to prepare their breakfast. The bathroom door was locked when she tried to open the door to check if Parame was inside.

Gabison thought it was Parame who locked the door but minutes later, a man with his face covered by a towel came out, pushed Gabison aside and fled.

A 61-year-old was arrested in Danao City yesterday for illegally manufacturing guns.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-7) arrested Efraim Preto Gomez Sr. for his illegal enterprise.

Supt. Fermin Armendarez III led the team in the raid on Gomez’s house in barangay Guinacot, Danao City at 11 a.m. yesterday.

Regional Trial Court RTC Judge Tereista Galanida of Mandaue City issued the arrest warrant against Gomez.

Seized during the raid witnessed by barangay tanods were two .38 revolvers, a 357 revolver, an Ingram, assorted unfinished guns, several pieces of ammunition and equipment.

Two men who are allegedly behind a series of robberies pulled off inside public utility jeepney plying Cebu City’s streets were arrested Thursday morning.

Chief Insp. Wildemar Tiu of the Waterfront Police Station said they arrested Marino Masias, 30 of Gen. Maxilom Avenue in barangay Carreta and Lyle Paras, 24, also of Carreta, at 6:00 a.m. Thursday.

Tiu said victims and witnesses positively identified Masias and Paras as the perpetrators in a series of robberies on passengers of public utility vehicles bearing the 01K route number.

An American was found dead inside his rented apartment Thursday noon in barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City

Homicide investigators identified the victim as 53-year-old William Westman Buchman, a native of California, USA and temporarily staying at Apartment 2 in Redemptorist Plaza.

Probers found no external injuries on Buchman’s body.
