A beach resort owner is  the richest elected official of Lapu-Lapu City based on her self-declared assets.

Based on her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN), Councilor Quennie Ammann is worth P18.2 million as of Dec. 31, 2013.

Most of her wealth comes from  three parcels of land she bought in 1990 and 1995 for P17 million.

Ammann owns Talima Beach Villas and Dive Resort  in Olango Island, Lapu-Lapu City as well as two other lots in Abuno (Lapu-Lapu City) and Tayud (not specified).

Her other listed properties include a Suzuki ADV van worth P820,000, home appliances and furnitures (P1 million), and bank deposits (P200,000). Amman’s lone liability  is a  P799,000 car loan.

The second richest is Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza whose SALN placed her wealth at P14.7 million.

Radaza, who was elected mayor in 2010, listed among her properties two commercial buildings worth P3 million, machinery worth P28,111, vehicles worth P5.1 million, jewelry at P1.6 million and “furniture, appliances, and others at P5.2 million. She did not declare any liability.

Radaza, who is connected with Aileen’s Craft Manufacturing and AR Craftline Manufacturing, listed two relatives presently working in government: her nephew, Lapu-Lapu City Councilor Harry Don Radaza; and sister, Lapu-Lapu City Commissioner on Tourism Ida Rago.

Radaza’s daughter Lapu-Lapu City Rep. Aileen Radaza, wasn’t listed in her SALN.

All public officials are required to list in their SALN to identify their relatives  working in government up to the fourth degree of consanguinity.

Public officials are required to submit their  SALNs  under Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and Republic Act 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

Government officials and employees who fail to submit their annual  SALN  or stated false items in the documents will face charges of perjury for mis-declaring their wealth in their  SALNs.
