Through social media, this 24-year-old beauty queen shared pointers on reducing everyone’s carbon footprint by using reusable everyday items like cutleries.

“Saving the environment is not supposed to be done by one alone, it is a collective effort,” she said.

Ocampo also hopes that with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte underscoring climate change as the cause of severe weather disturbances, local and national government officials will create laws to pressure large companies to lessen their carbon footprints.

She also encourages netizens to support local animal organizations like Island Rescue Organization (IRO), Animal Kingdom Foundation, Philippine Animal Welfare Society, etc.

“These organizations devote themselves to help animals, let us help them by giving donations and the support of volunteers…” she said.

Apart from sharing her various advocacies, Ocampo also encourages netizens to take courage and speak about the things they are passionate about.

“Before I was afraid of criticism, however, I gained confidence knowing that if kung walay mo buhat, kinsa man? My conscience would kill me if I wala ko gi buhat,” Ocampo said.

“Find your voice and use whatever platform you have to remind people about the things that matter and be good examples,” added Ocampo.
