MANDAUE CITY, Philippines—Neighbors helped put out two separate fires in Mandaue City on Monday evening, February 1, 2021.

Felix Suico Jr., operations head of the Mandaue City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO), said two fires broke out in houses in barangays Paknaan and Bakilid at 6:47 p.m and 7:43, respectively.

He said neighbors of both houses doused the fire even before the city’s fire responders could arrive at the sites.

No casualty was reported in either of the fire alarms.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined as of this posting.
