Lapu-Lapu City administrator has COVID-19

LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines – Lawyer Danilo Almendras, the Lapu-Lapu City Administrator, has tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This was confirmed by Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan during a press briefing on Friday, February 19, 2021.
Chan said that Almendras underwent an RT-PRC test after he manifested a symptom of the virus, such as coughing.
He said that on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, the result of his test came-out, confirming that the city administrator is positive for the virus.
“Actually, currently nag-isolate siya sa hospital,” Chan said, adding that the hospital is just located in Lapu-Lapu.
Due to this, the mayor said that they disinfected the office of Almendras.
Aside from this, eight personnel of the City Administrator’s Office has already undergone a swab test.
Chan also urged those of have close contact with Almendras to isolate themselves and undergo swab testing voluntarily.
