Lapu police after gunman who killed Muslim tricycle driver

CEBU CITY, Philippines  – Policemen in Lapu-Lapu City continue to investigate the killing of a tricycle driver, who is a Muslim, at around 9 p.m. on Friday, March 5.

Saidato Masarong Saumay, 25, was driving his unit along Cagudoy Road in Barangay Basak when he was shot dead.

Police Master Sergeant Romualdo Anana of Station 4 of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO) said that they are yet to locate and identify Saumay’s killer and determine the motive behind his murder.

On February 23, a motorcycle tandem also killed Abdullah Pabilla, the head of the  city’s Muslim Affairs Office, near the Clean and Green Office that is located within the Lapu-Lapu City Hall compound.
