The Dancesport Team Cebu City (DTCC) dancers captured 14 of the 22 golds disputed in yet another dominating display of dancesport prowess in the recent Dance Sports Council of the Philippines Inc.’s Mid-Year Ranking and Competition.
The powerhouse Cebuanos also collected 9 silvers and 4 bronze medals in the meet held at the Philsports Arena’s Multi-Purpose Center in Pasig City.
DTCC is preparing for next month’s 7th Dancesport sa Sugbu at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
The tandems of Andre Ysla-Noelyn Pedrano and Hezekiah Sobrevega-Rowella Rydel Pat led the golden hoard of DTCC as each pair snared four gold medals each in the national tournament.
Ysla and Pedrano danced their way to golden finishes in the Standard and Latin Junior C and A categories while Sobrevega and Pat wowed the judges in the Standard and Latin Juvenile C and A categories.
Asian Dance Sports Council’s 21st International Dance Teachers Association’s IDTA Cup gold medalist Eleanor Hayco and her partner, Bjorn Torreon, also bagged a gold medal in the Standard Special Event’s 2-C category, while the Villarta siblings, Zjiane Troy and Zjiana Tracy, snared the championship title in the Youth A’s Standard category.
Cebu secured another gilt in the Argentine Tango courtesy of Danilo Gagani and Marina Rosales, while Ronnie Vergara and Charlea Lagaras-Vergara danced their way to the gold medal finish in the Professional division’s Latin Open category.
Bert Kevin Diluvio and Jam Flores also joined the golden medal harvest of DTCC as they reigned supreme in the Latin Grace C category, alongside the duo of Jimmy Noel and Mary Desiree Seraga, who emerged on top of the heap in the Latin Special Event 1-F division.
