CEBU CITY, Philippines — More than 4, 000 local and overseas job vacancies are up for grab during the five-day online Kalayaan jobs fair scheduled from June 8 to 12, 2021, the Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas (DOLE-7) said.

DOLE-7 Director Salome Siaton said the job fair that was organized in celebration of Independence Day on Saturday, June 12, is in coordination with Workbank, Inc.

“We are now urging jobseekers from all over Central Visayas to take advantage of this online job fair. All they have to do is go to the job search page through Workbank, Inc.,” she said.

Applicants may register using bit.ly/workbank-dole7-jobfair.

“There is also a need to verify the accounts of the applicants via email or mobile to get notified with the list of activities during the event.  After that, one may now view the job vacancies posted by top companies joining the job fair,” she added.

As of June 3, DOLE-7 has already identified close to 2,000 local job vacancies and 2,523 job opportunities abroad.

Local companies are looking for customer service representatives, customer support consultants, technical support representatives, teammate / customer service representatives, drivers, conductors, and financial service experts.

Overseas job vacancies include registered nurses, nurse staff, waiter/waitress, airport services agent, general meat processing workers, tyre fitters, cashiers, cooks, service crew, assistant waiters, and supervisors.

Siaton said overseas applications, who are already registered on the online job fair platform, are advised to contact the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and log in to this link so they can be direct them to a new home page.

The DOLE-7 director is looking forward to having more applicants getting hired on the spot since they will be notified real-time as to the status of their application.

Aside from organizing the job fair on June 12, DOLE-7 will also be extending assistance to individuals who will make inquiries on their other programs and activities.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), on the other hand, will also be organizing online business coaching sessions on the same day. / dcb
