MultiSport Team members excited to defend crown
Members of the Cebu Students MultiSport Team, the defending champion in the Mixed Relay event of the Cobra IronMan 70.3 Philippines, are itching to defend their title when the country’s premier triathlon unfolds this morning at the Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa.
Composed of student-athletes Luis Miguel Maximo, RJ Lao and Ara Dennise Echavez, the team is eyeing to make it back-to-back this year and make Cebuanos proud once again.
Maximo, a 3rd year college student of Ateneo de Manila University, will man the team’s 90km bike leg. The former member of the Nat’l Junior Cycling Team was the overall champion of the 2012 Xterra Lite Triathlon.
RJ Lao on the other hand, will do the 21km run leg while Echavez will man the squad’s 1.9km swim segment. Both Lao and Echavez are varsity members of the University of San Carlos.
The Cebu Students MultiSport Team is supported by Ridley, Token and Campagnolo.
