Smart, Sun donate cell phones, numbers for emergency calls
Representatives from Smart and Sun turnover phones to be used for emergency hotline cellphone numbers to Mayor Rama
Emergencies and requests to the Cebu City’s Command Control Center (C3) can now be done via mobile phone.
This morning, Smart and Sun Cellular turned over to the Cebu City Government four mobile phones for four cellphone hotline numbers — 0947-178-9999, 0947-178-0000, 0932-537-7770 and 0923-524-8222.
The public can call these numbers to request ambulances, response for assistance in emergencies, police assistance and barangay complaints like unlighted lampposts, uncollected garbage and others.
“I encourage everyone to save these numbers and give it to their children, family members and other relatives,” C3 Chief Dave Tumulak said.
The phones will be stationed at the command center and will be manned by personnel 24/7 together with landline hotline numbers 166 and 262-1424.
Tumulak requested the public not to make prank calls since “all calls will be considered emergencies.”
