The taxes you paid made it possible for government to serve you.
This was the message of Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes as the city paid tribute to its top individual and corporate taxpayers at the Mandaue City Sports Complex Friday night.
“Your singular act of contributing to the city and paying taxes honestly is one of the ultimate expression of the brand of service called ‘I am Mandaue!’,” said the mayor.
Vic Enterprise (business, sole proprietorship), the Visayan Electric Company (business, corporate), Everjust Realty Development Corp. (corporate, realty) and Wilson Ng (individual) topped their categories. All awardees were given plaques of recognition.
The city government also gave special recognition to businesses operating in the city since 1969.
These are Lucy’s Pharmacy, Suson Lumber, Gal’s Bakery, Simon Enterprise, Querubin Construction Supply, San Miguel Corp., YY & Co., San Miguel Brewery, and Republic Corrugated Cartons Inc.
