Man shot in medellin bust

Police yesterday shot and wounded a man suspected of involvement in the illegal drug trade in barangay Lamintak Norte in Medellin town where authorities seized almost a million pesos worth of illegal drugs in a sting operation.

Nemesis Victoria, 37 was seriously wounded by a policeman after he allegedly aimed a gun at the raiding team. Arrested in the operation were: Alvin Golisao, 33 and Eduardo Cañales, 34.

Police confiscated 80 sachets suspected to contain white crystalline powder believed to be shabu, with an estimated street value of P994,000. Also seized were a .38 cal. revolver, a . 357 cal. revolver and a .22 cal. revolver.

An undetermined amount of cash were also confiscated in the raid.

Mayor Ricardo Ramirez said the arrest should serve as warning to drug dealers who refuse to leave his town. “You only have two choices left — either go to prison or cemetery,” he said in his Facebook message that captioned a photograph of the wounded suspect.
