AT LEAST P12,000 in proceeds were stolen by motorcycle-riding gunmen from a gasoline station and a convenience store in the Mandaue Reclamation Area at 10:45 p.m. last Tuesday.

Senior Insp. Miguel Andeza, chief of the Subangdaku police precinct, said the 25-year-old gas station cashier named Lurlita Baguio and 21-year-old convenience store cashier Gretchen Dunghil called them up after the four men broke into their premises and declared a holdup.

A security guard assigned at the convenience store identified as Jimrey Sumayang of GDS Security Agency was disarmed by one of the robbers while his cohorts headed to the cash registers and took the cash.

The service crew of the gas station threw some empty bottles at the fleeing robbers and one of the back riders fired shots at them. No one was hurt.

A Petron gasoline station was also robbed by two motorcycle riding robbers in sitio Cabado, barangay Bagay Daanbantayan town last Wednesday afternoon.

The cashier identified as Irish Pepito was held up at gunpoint by the robbers who took P5,000 in cash proceeds from the gasoline station.

PO2 MacArthur Monsanto said the gasoline station didn’t have a security guard and security cameras.
