‘Yaya’ arrested for illegal drugs in Talisay City

CEBU CITY, Philippines — A 34-year-old babysitter was arrested with P170,000 worth of ‘shabu’ during a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, past 5 a.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2022.

Police identified the suspect as Mary Ann Cabuenas, who allegedly moonlights as an illegal drug seller in Barangay Cansojong in Talisay City.

Police were able to close a transaction with her, resulting to her arrest beside the South Road Properties in the said barangay past 5 a.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2022.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes, chief of Talisay City Police Station, said that their operation against Cabuenas stemmed from the reports they received of her involvement in the illegal drug trade.

During their operation, police confiscated a total of 25 grams of ‘shabu’ from her. This has an estimated market value of P170,000.

Cabuenas is currently detained at the detention facility of Talisay City Police Station pending the filing of appropriate charges against her.
