Charges of frustrated murder were filed in court yesterday against the 28-year-old man, who allegedly struck the head of an elderly woman in a botched buglary attempt in Liloan town, northern Cebu last Sunday.

Jimson Roado didn’t have a lawyer when he was brought at the Mandaue City Hall of Justice past 4 p.m. yesterday.

When presented before the Cebu Provincial Prosecutors’ Office last Tuesday, Roado chose not to undergo further investigation that could have given him a chance to submit a counter-affidavit and refute the allegations.

Instead, he agreed that the charges against him be filed at the RTC in Mandaue City which has jurisdiction over crimes that happened in Liloan town.

Assistant Provincial Prosecutor Marlon Atillo recommended the bail at P200,000.

Asked if he will post bail, Roado said “Wa pa ko kahibaw. (I don’t know).”

Roado surrendered to the Liloan police hours after he was identified by witnesses as the person who clubbed the head of Maria Nelia Villamor with a piece of wood at 4:20 a.m. last Oct. 26.

Villamor sustained multiple fractures on the left side of her face and a six-centimeter gash in the head.
