Brit falls to his death

A British man was found dead in Mahiga Creek in barangay Apas, Cebu City early morning, Saturday.

Jonathan Paul Harris, 29, was found around 6 a.m. with injuries in the head and other parts of the body.

Based on the driver’s license found in his pocket, the man was from Ipswich, a town in Suffolk, England.

SPO4 Alex Dacua, homicide investigator of the Cebu City police, said a boy saw the man walking alone in a zig-zag manner on Mahiga Bridge on Gov. Cuenco Avenue before he fell down. Police said the victim fell from at least 20 feet and may have been intoxicated.

A female resident in the area told police that she saw the man drinking with somebody at  around 2 a.m. in the parking area of Gaisano Countrymall in  Banilad. The drinking session which may have been part of the Halloween celebration on  Friday night reportedly ended at 4 a.m.

Police said an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
