A 17-YEAR-OLD youth sustained a gunshot wound on the right leg after being shot by a security guard assigned in a mall in barangay Poblacion Occidental, Consolacion town last Tuesday evening.
The 52-year-old security guard identified as Henry Garcia Babano fired a warning shot downward but it hit the youth.
The youth was rushed to the nearest clinic and later transferred to a hospital.
Babano’s fellow security guard Edgar Canillo reported the incident to the police.
PO3 Arthur Ariate of the Consolacion police said Babano warned the youth not to enter the area where the mall is being built. The youth ignored his warning.
Babano is detained at the police precinct on attempted homicide charges while the youth offender faces charges of trespassing and referred to the Women and Children’s Protection Desk.
