German automaker BMW, one of the most popular premium car brands known for superior engineering, is looking to strengthen its presence in Cebu.

In an interview last week, Seng Thiew Seow, VP for Operations for BMW dealerships in VisMin, said BMW remains the segment market leader in the country, selling 653 units last year. But he admitted that there’s always room for improvement, especially in the Queen City of the South.

Seng said Cebu is among BMW’s best performing dealerships in the country, selling an estimated 70 units last year. He believes, though, some changes within the Autowelt Cebu showroom and service center in Nivel Hills can improve that figure.

“Expect a lot of changes here,” Seng said during a press meeting at the Autowelt Cebu showroom. “We want to ensure the best experience for our customers so we will be overhauling our after sales service workshop area.”  Autowelt is the exclusive dealer of brand-new BMW vehicles in Cebu.

Bringing BMW vehicles closer to Cebuanos is also one way to boost the brand’s presence, which is why Seng thinks offering test drives is very important.

He said taking BMW units for a drive is the best way to experience BMW’s superb engineering. Seng added they are in the lookout for an area in Cebu where they can have proper test driving for their units. Last week, BMW hosted a Cebu media test drive for their X1, X3, X4, X5 and X6 models in Busay.
