A 34-year-old public school teacher was found dead with a stab wound in the head inside the room of his sister in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City Wednesday night.

Grantfil Parantar, a teacher at the Gun-ob National High School, was found lifeless with a stab wound in the head. A  screw driver was also found nearby.

Police are investigating if the death is a suicide.

He was allegedly hallucinating before he was found dead, said Insp. Zenaido Pastorfide Jr., homicide investigator at the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO).

Katlyn Parantar, the victim’s wife, told police that her husband had been acting strangely the past few days.

She said he kept on telling her that someone was out to kill him.

She said that her husband left afterwards and went to his parents’ house in sitio Pakpakan.

Felix Parantar said his son locked himself up in her daughter’s room. He said they heard Grantfil seemingly struggling inside the room.

He tried to convince his son to open the door.

Felix then sought the help of barangay tanods who went to the house and forcibly opened the door and found  a bloodied Grantfil sprawled on the floor.

Paramedics from the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation brought the victim to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital where he was declared dead.
