Runaway guest who’s a looker, a minor – Magpale
The young lady who was brought in to the police for failing to pay for her hotel bill in Asturias town in midwest Cebu was brought to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) at the Provincial Capitol today.
Police has filed charges of estafa against ‘J’ before the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office after social workers who assessed her issued a “certificate of discernment”.
Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale told the media that ‘J’ is minor after confirming at the school she last attended in Southern Leyte that she is only 17 years old. Magpale said J was not able to finish third year high school. She said it is only her aunt who served as her guardian here in Cebu.
She will later be turned over to a Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) accredited facility.
J’s latest troubles captured public attention when she was brought to the police for failure to pay her P15,000 bill at the Cabo Resort in Asturias. A salon owner also took to the police and social media J for running away with P2,000 bill for hair color, eyelash extension, pedicure and manicure at the Nails and Cocktails Salon in barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City.
The owner of the salon had filed estafa charges against the minor. This is the first time J’s real age has been determined. In one of the Facebook accounts bearing her name, her birthday was listed at Dec. 10, 1993. The fluent English-speaking J has also told personnel at the Asturias resort varying ages, from 19 to 23.
