Finally, the Bus Rapid Transit in Cebu City will push through with the approval by the World Bank   of a $141 million loan for the  Philippine government for the project.

It was initially shelved by Malacañang in December 2012 after President Aquino said it  needed more study.

The loan approval was announced by the WB in Washington on Sept. 2014.

The BRT system in Cebu will cover 23 kilometers from barangay Bulacao to Talamban, Cebu City.

The  BRT is expected to carry 330,000 passengers daily, improve mobility of Cebu residents while reducing pollution and increasing travel safety.

Like trains, the BRT runs on its own dedicated lanes, carrying large numbers of commuters faster, safer and more reliable.
Detailed engineering is being worked out in the first quarter of 2015 with  construction expected to roll out in the second quarter.
