LKC karatekas claim 2 golds in Nat’l Open

THE Labogon Karate Club of Mandaue City (LKC-MC) bagged two gold medals in the kumite event in last Sunday’s Union of Philippine Karatedo Organization Inc. 3rd National/Invitational Open Karatedo Championships at the J Centre Mall’s Activity Center.

Emmanuel del Poso, who ruled the 7-8 years old Boys division Kumite and Miles Cator, ruler of the 15-16 Boys Kumite accounted for LKC-MC’s golds in the meet which drew more than 160 karatekas from different clubs in Cebu.

Also winning gold in the two-day event is Arnis-Shotukan Karatedo Society’s (ASKS) Greg Christian Cabrera who topped the 11-12 Boys Kumite. The ASKS team tied ASK in the number of gold medals won in Kata at nine each before the Kumite competition.

Other karatekas who won gold in their respective divisions are AUF-Talisay’s Felix Calipusan (13-14 Boys), Lynie Narboada of SKO-Mandaue (Women’s Open), Anjilo Sadili of Mandaue City Karatedo Club (Men’s 55-kgs.) and the Japan Karate Association (JKA)-Headquarters team, which topped the Men’s Senior Synchronized Team event.
