What's Up!

Be that change, Let’s Do It! Philippines

Lets Do it Phils

Enrique San Juan of SEED4COM

DO you know what the world needs right now? A massive clean-up.

It can’t be denied that improper disposal of garbage are one of the main reasons of flooding. If people won’t learn how to properly dispose waste, this problem will continue.

This is what SEED4COM prompted to initiate a massive clean-up event in the country.

Let’s Do It! Clean-up movement which started out in Estonia in 2008, is going to happen in the Philippines on Sept. 20. Let’s Do It! World is a civic led mass movement where 50,000 people gathered to clean up the entire country in just five hours. It is now an international movement with 112 countries working together, engaging over 11 million participants.

Dubbed Let’s Do It! Philippines, it encourages everyone to join the movement to create change. What will take months and months of clean-up will be done in just a few hours if more people will join the movement.

According to Enrique San Juan of SEED4COM, this is the first time that the Philippines is joining the movement. This weekend, representatives from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will have national conference in Badian Cebu. Dubbed Trash Warriors Boot Camp, the conference aims to train 100 leaders who will also go back to their regions and train volunteers in preparation for Sept. 20.

Everyone across the coutnry is encouraged to join the movement and make that change.
