SIX stray dogs from different barangays in Mandaue City were seized by the city’s veterinary office last Tuesday afternoon in line with their campaign for a rabies-free city and spare residents from unprovoked attacks.

City Veterinarian Dr. Maria Daisy Penetrante urged residents to keep dogs in their homes to prevent them from biting passersby.

“Kini pud aron malikayan ang disgrasya sa kadalanan (This is also to prevent vehicular accidents involving dogs),” Penetrante.

The seized stray dogs have been placed at the city’s impounding facility in barangay Labogon.

Owners are given three days to claim their dogs, otherwise, the animals will be put up for adoption or put to death  by lethal injection.

Meanwhile, Penetrante encouraged residents to submit their dogs to the vaccination which is given for free.
