Erco BRO Nationals and Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) football squads bagged two titles each in the ongoing 12th Thirsty Football Cup at the Cebu City Sports Center yesterday.

Erco BRO Nationals topped the Under-23 boys’ division and 38-above men’s category. DBTC-A and DBTC-team 7 ruled the mixed under-seven and under-nine divisions, respectively.

The boys’ U-23 title was won by Erco after it defeated  Pocket Monsters FC, 1-0, in the final match-up.

Erco topped the group stage with seven points then edged out a fellow ERCO team, 1-0, in the semifinals. Pocket Monsters FC won over the University of the Visayas (UV), 1-0, in the other semis pairing.

JR Castillon of Erco Bro Nationals was named MVP in the U-23 division.

In the men’s 38-above division, Erco BRO Nationals-team B clinched the title after scoring a total of 13 points in the rankings, way over Don Bosco Alumni’s nine points.

In their finals showdown, both teams settled for a scoreless draw so officials had to determine the winners with the total points accrued  after the eliminations.

Meanwhile, DBTC-team A staged a huge win over the visiting Loyola Meralco Sparks, 2-0, in the final match to take home the mixed under-seven crown.

Gab Tabar was named MVP in the division.

Both teams finished the group stage with six points to top their respective groups.

DBTC-team 7 also defeated Loyola Meralco Spark’s under-nine squad, 2-0, in the finals with Ash Ballesteros winning the MVP plum.

In the boys’ U-11, Xavier University of Manila topped the division with a 2-0 win over San Carlos City. Laurence Tortona was named MVP.

Bright Academy-A won the boys’ U-13 title with Ritchel Gerasmio named MVP.
