TWO men were arrested in Carcar City, southern Cebu in relation to the holdup of collectors carrying cash.
Joel Moreno, 29, of Ozamiz, and Harrison Abapo Abendan, 19, were arrested in a hot pursuit operation in sitio Tal-ut, barangay Valencia last Monday.
They denied being involved in the robberies.
Police said the two were accused of robbing Ma. Ofelia Laoc, 45, and Ruben Pelegrin, 31, who are workers of Fairbank.
A total of P30,000 was taken in the robbery.
The two victims were aboard a motorcycle on their way to Carcar when unidentified men blocked them and held them up.
Barangay officials and Carcar police helped arrest the two men, said Senior Insp. Wilson Abot, chief of the Provincial Investigation and Detection Management Branch (PIDMB).
A .45 caliber pistol with five bullets and a big plastic pack believed to contain shabu were seized from Moreno’s possession while Abendan yielded a sachet of suspected shabu.
Pelegrin, however, identified Anden as the one who pointed a gun at him during the robbery.
Police said the two men were suspected to be behind the spate of robberries involving lending collectors and delivery vans.
