BATCH 1999-BMC Hospital Systems/Hainanese Delights had a walk in the park in keeping its record unblemished as it dumped Batch 2005-Headway Motorcycle Hub, 101-77, last Tuesday in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 14th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
Mark Bukiron came up with yet another high-scoring performance, firing a game-high 32 points in Batch ‘99’s fourth straight win that pushed them to a tie at the number one spot with Batch ‘80s/‘90s/2011-Koi Herbal, which also sports a clean 4-0 (win-loss) record.
Reigning MVP Earn Saguindel also had a splendid game for Batch ’99 as he finished with 27 points, 13 assists, four rebounds and two steals, while Albert Uy pitched in 21 markers.
Kent Uy finished with 29 points, Philip Lua contributed 14 markers, Nikko Tiu donated 13 and Kenneth Ang produced 11 points but their efforts went to naught as Batch 2005 succumbed to its fourth loss in five games.
Meawhile, Batch 2006-1st ACY Shipping Corp./Cebu Regal Pension House escaped with a 66-57 win over Batch 2003-Dimsum Frito in a battle of winless squads.
Gino Abella scattered 35 markers, Jermaine Nuñez had 10 for Batch 2006, which finally barged into the win column after a 0-3 start.
Gwynn Uy scored 17 points and Mark Cuizon added 13 in Batch 2003’s fourth straight defeat.
