Expert talks of the reasons for possession

In a September 17 report of CDN Digital, Fr. Jose Francisco C. Syquia, director of the Archdiocese of Manila Office of Exorcism, cites several factors why some students in schools get possessed by evil spirits.

Syquia, who was interviewed on August 25 in Cebu where he helped organize a three-day exorcism congress, said that these included those, who were immersed in the occult, who possessed a strong psychic energy since childhood, and yet, they would have no allegiance to God.

He said usually these kids third eye were open and they were considered psychics and usually these kids were brought to the albularyo, which would really make them more prone to things like at worse cases possession.

Fr. Syquia said that one of the things to do to lessen the chances of possession would be for parents to focus on the spiritual development of their children, to focus on prayers and to have sacramentals in their homes.

He described sacramentals as rosaries, holy water, and crucifixes.
