CEBU CITY, Philippines—Aui Padawan topped the Sugbuanon Bowlers United (SUGBU) Bowling Shootout Tournament at the SM Seaside City Cebu Bowling Center on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

One of SUGBU’s reliable elite bowlers,  Padawan bagged the title after outlasting eventual second placer Luke Bolongan.

Padawan and Bolongan were actually tied with a total of 841 pinfalls after their four-game series. However, the winner was determined via the high-low rule, wherein Padawan had 49 and Bolongan  96.

Padawan took home the title and bagged a slot for October’s ‘Bowler of the Month’ tournament.

Amazingly both bowlers captured the top two spots against 27 other bowlers without handicap points.

Padawan became known in the local bowling scene after winning the title of the Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA)-Cebu Sinulog Open National Tournament’s masters division in 2017.

In 2018, Padawan bagged another national title after winning the the men’s graded masters category of the Philippine Tenpin Bowling Association (PTBA)-Crown Pipes Open.

Rounding off the top three bowlers last Sunday was fellow elite John Galindo, who had 761 pinfalls.
