SHAABAA: 2 exciting do-or-die games in Division A semifinals showdown slated on Sunday

CEBU CITY, Philippines — It’s going to be judgement day for the four remaining teams in Division A of the ongoing Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 26 on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
Two exciting do-or-die game 3 semifinals showdown will be featured tomorrow in Division A. Games will be held at the Magis Eagles Arena in Mandaue City.
Bayfront Hotel-Batch 1990/1997 will attempt to unseat the defending champions, the Core Pacific Money Exchange-Batch 2000.
Batch 2000 will have to force a do-or-die game 3 tomorrow at 3 p.m. after tying the series 1-1 last October 1. Batch 2000 won the game 2, 57-41, with Johannes Chua leading them with 18 points, while Serg Al Go Bui added 11.
Meanwhile, ARQ Batch 2001 and the Speed Demon Vivant-Batch 1994/1995/1996 are also squaring off in their own winner-take-all game 3 at 1:30 p.m.
Batch 2001 edged Batch 1994/1995/1996, 59-45, last October 1, resulting to tomorrow’s deciding game 3, behind Mark Hing, Carlo Villarica, and Jason Arquisola’s efforts.
Hing had a double-double game of 16 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists, while Villarica and Arquisola added 12 and nine points.
BATTLE FOR 3RD
Meanwhile, Harley Davidson-Batch 2014 and Batch 2021 will play one-game in their battle-for-third in SHAABAA’s Division C at 3 p.m.
Batch 2014 was eliminated by the Division C defending champions, the Heritage Supreme Land Developer-Batch 2012, 56-95, last October 1, in game three in their semifinals series.
Also, Batch 2021 was booted out by Nest Workspaces-Batch 2013, 91-60, in their semis series.
Batch 2012 and Batch 2013 will play for SHAABAA Division C’s finals.
On the other hand, ’04 For the Win-Batch 2004 and Puresteel Manufacturing Corporation-Batch 2011 will play for Division B’s battle-for-third at 1:30 PM.
Batch 2004 was swept in their best-of-three semis duel against the Efficascent Boost-BRC-Batch 2010, so as Batch 2011 against Division B’s defending champions, the Cebu Landmasters-Batch 2003.
