THE CHRIST’S Commission Fellowship (CCF) and the Praise Cathedral Nets capped off their respective stints in the elimination round of the 34-below class with rousing wins in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) basketball tournament last weekend at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.
CCF, powered by the University of the Visayas’ 6-foot-8 reinforcement Steve Akomo’s 18 points, blew out the Lighthouse, 107-47, to finish the round with a 5-1 (win-loss) record, good for second behind the CFGA’s unblemished 6-0 mark in Bracket A.
The Nets completed their elimination-round sweep with an 81-72 win over FEFC for a 6-0 record in Bracket B. They will be taking on the GWUC in the quarterfinals.
