Cesafi Esports: UCLM is on a roll

CEBU CITY, Philippines—The University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu Mandaue (UCLM) Webmasters flexed their might in the Cesafi Esports League’s Valorant tournament at the TNC Cebu on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

The Webmasters swept all their three scheduled matches on that day, which was against the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers, University of the Philippines (UP)-Cebu Fighting Maroons, and the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars.

UCLM first clobbered the Panthers, 13-9, behind Jay “Bokki” Labajo’s 22-kill outing and paired it with 14 assists. 

UCLM went on to win another one against UP-Cebu,13-1, with Samuel Gabriel “Shmoke” Pino leading them with 22 kills and three assists. 

The Webmasters capped off their dominant outing in the Cesafi Esports arena with a close win over the Jaguars, 13-10, with Pino duplicating his second game performance of 22 kills with four assists.

Despite losing to UCLM, the Jaguars managed to grab two wins against UP Cebu, 13-3, and USP-F, 13-5. 

John Michael “Kel” Canoy led USJ-R in beating UP Cebu with 25 kills and five assists, while Nikko “Baby” Diwa paced them in winning against USPF with 18 kills and four assists. 

Meanwhile, USPF made sure it ended the day with a win after beating UP Cebu, 13-5, with Shaun Matthew “blurred” Maglasang scoring 26 kills with seven assists.
