Body of man found floating in waters off Pajara Park in Mandaue
MANDAUE CITY, Cebu—The body of an unidentified man was retrieved from the waters off Pajara Park in Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City at around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
The body was recovered by the personnel from the Mandaue City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO)
According to the spot report from the Mandaue City Police Office, they received a call from the City Tactical Operations Center (CTOC) at 6:38 a.m informing them of the dead body found under the Marcelo Fernan Bridge.
They then immediately went to the area and found the body still floating in the middle of the Mactan Channel.
Together with CDRRMO personnel, they were able to retrieve the body at 7 a.m.
MCPO Deputy City Director for Administration and Spokesperson Police Lieutenent Colonel Franco Rudolf Oriol said that they are already coordinating with Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City for any reported missing person.
Oriol said that they cannot give a conclusion of what happened to the man as they haven’t identified him yet.
“Sa karon, we are after the identity of the victim. [We are looking for] any person to identify the victim,” said Oriol.
The body of the man found in Mandaue was turned over to the Scene of the Crime Operatives for investigation.
