Metro Cebu: Rainy weather expected in Cebu as LPA monitored by Pagasa-Mactan

CEBU CITY, Philippines – The weather in Metro Cebu and the rest of the province is expected to be a bit rainy in the mornings and afternoons in the next five days due to the effect of the northeast monsoon (Amihan).

Engineer Al Quiblat, chief of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration Mactan (Pagasa Mactan), said the rest of Visayas, including, Cebu will expect intermittent rainfall during the afternoon to evening or early morning.

“Generally, fair weather man for the next five days. Ang naka apekto karon is kining northeast monsoon, particularly sa northern and central Visayas,” Quiblat said in an interview with CDN Digital.

Quiblat said that the temperature up until Friday, October 27, will range from 26 to 31 degrees Celsius and 26 to 36 degrees Celcius on Saturday, October 28.

From Sunday, October 29 to Monday, October 30, the temperature will range from 24 to 31 degrees Celcius with an expected heat index of up to 39 degrees Celsius.

“Taas-taas gyud siya so magdala gyud tanan ug payong ug tubig daghan,” he said.

Quiblat advised Cebuanos, particularly during the election, to opt for light-colored clothing and avoid prolonged sun exposure exceeding 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, Quiblat pointed out that they are closely monitoring a cloud cluster outside the Philippines Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The PAGASA chief noted that there’s a significant probability of it developing into a low-pressure area but a lower likelihood of intensifying into a storm.

“Expected na two to three days nga musulod sa PAR as cloud cluster or low-pressure area. But it’s very far from land so dili pata kaexpect sa iyang epekto for the next five days,” Quiblat said.

PAGASA will continue its vigilant monitoring of weather conditions, ensuring that the public stays well-informed and prepared for any developments.
