Two of ALA Boxing Gym’s most promising fighters, IBF junior bantamweight champion, “King” Arthur Villanueva (26-0, 14KOs) and rising Boholano prospect Mark Magsayo (10-0, 8KOs) will banner ALA Promotions International’s first fight card in the United States  on June 27 in San Mateo county, California.

The card will serve as a teaser for a series of fight cards ALA Promotions and media giant ABS-CBN will promote in the U.S.

ALA Promotions CEO Michael Aldeguer said the card will be the U.S. version of “IDOL” a popular boxing show which featured promising fighters from ALA Boxing Gym and other stables.

“It’s like IDOL in the U.S. and we want Villanueva and Magsayo to banner our first fight card there before we go into bigger promotions,” Aldeguer said.

According to Aldeguer, he and ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC) are also planning to have IBF Inter-continental super bantamweight champion “Prince” Albert Pagara (23-0, 16KOs), fight in the main event of a major fight card in San

Francisco, California on Aug. 1 while another U.S. card will be unvieled on October at the Stubhub Center in Carson City, California.

However, Pagara has to first win his bout in Dubai on June 12 where he will be fighting alongside his older brother WBO International light welterweight king Jason “El Niño” Pagara  (35-2, 22KOs).

Last Saturday, the younger Pagara successfully defended his IBF title against Mexican Rodolfo Hernandez at Smart Araneta Coliseum.  Jason on the other hand, last fought and won on Feb. 7 against Cesar Chavez in Davao City.

Aldeguer also clarified that the Pagara brothers, Magsayo and Villanueva along with several ALA Boxing Gym fighters will still fly to the U.S. middle of this month to train.

“We will definitely push through with our plan to let them train in the U.S. to hone their skills there and not just headline our upcoming fight cards,” Aldeguer added.

Villanueva for his pasrt, scored a 10-round unanimous decision victory over former world champion Julio Cesar “Pingo” Miranda in the undercard of Pinoy Pride 29 in Davao City while Magsayo beat Thai Sukkasem Kietyongyuth via fifth round TKO.

Aldeguer also said that they are open to including foreign fighters in their upcoming promotions like last Saturday’s PP30 when Japanese Ryo Akaho and Ghana’s Prosper Ankhrah battled for the vacant WBO International bantamweight belt won by the former.
