Trisikad passenger shot down in Inayawan

A backhoe  operator was shot dead while his two companions escaped a gunman in sitio Laray, barangay Inayawan in Cebu City at past 8 p.m. last Tuesday.

Ricardo Fernandez, 36, of  Dumanjug town was shot in the neck. He was riding a  trisikad with two companions when they were overtaken by motorcycle-riding assailants.

The back-rider blocked their path a few meters away. The trisikad driver and Fernandez’s companions got out and ran,  leaving the victim. Fernandez  had just come  from Talisay City at the time.  Two empty shells from a  .45 pistol were recovered at the crime scene. Homicide investigator Junimark Ungab said the motive of the violence was not known.
