Kapwa Ko, Mahal Ko Foundation, Inc. – Cebu in partnership with the Cebu Centennial Lions Club District 301-B2 and Sacred Heart School Hijas de Jesus Class of 1998 delivered health services closer to peoples’ homes in Brgy. Binabag, a mountain barangay in Pinamungajan, Cebu.
It organizes health service programs to reach out and serve the poor and the underprivileged.
Over 900 mountain folks flocked to the Divine Mercy Chapel where the mission was held to avail of the free health services rendered in the one-day event. Services offered were surgical (excision of cysts, circumcision, & wound dressing), dental (tooth extraction & examination), optical (eye refraction with reading glasses), and blood diagnostic services (blood typing, random blood sugar test, & hemoglobin/hematocrit count). Full dose of antibiotics and analgesics were dispensed to the surgical and dental patients. Vitamin supplements were also given to children and adults.
Close to forty (40) volunteers worked together to serve the people in the mountain barangay. Comprising the medical team were optometrists, surgeon, dentists, nurses, medical technologists, social workers and some support staff. The Cebu Centennial Lions Club led by President Lion Jennifer Tochip, also actively participated in the event.
The medical mission was conducted in coordination with the local government unit of Pinamungajan, the Barangay LGU, the Cebu Blood Donors’ Society (CBDS), and the Order of the Discalced Augustinians (OAD) through Rev. Father Jay Amamangpang, the priest who requested the health services for the people in Brgy. Binabag.
