Valentine’s Day Wedding: 26 couples exchange ‘I Dos’ in Toledo City
MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — February 14 was a very important day for 26 couples in Toledo City who availed of the city government’s free wedding program.
Mayor Marjorie Piczon Perales officiated the exchange of wedding vows and the special event was being held at the Toledo Sports Center, the city’s Public Information Office said.

“Kini inisyatiba sa kasamtangang administrasyon nga may tumong nga mahatagan og libre ug desente nga kasal, hilabi na gayud katong dugay na nagpuyo-puyo, aduna nay mga anak ug walay igong kapasidad sa pag-gasto og maanindot nga seremonya,” the Toledo City PIO said in a social media post.
(This is through the initiative of the current administration with the goal to provide a free and decent wedding, especially to those who are living in, who have children and do not have the capacity to spend for a nice or lavish ceremony.)

Among those who availed of the free wedding program was a couple who have been together for 17 years but had never had the opportunity to marry.
In addition to the free wedding and free reception that the Toledo City Government sponsored, each of the couples was also given free cakes, wine and a sack of 25 kilos of rice.
